Description
Inspired by a trip to the North Rim of the Grand Canyon, buffalo were grazing in a field near the entrance to the park. Their backdrop was a dense forest of firs, spruce and pines. In August the fields were green with little flowers. I wanted a free method to portray this scene and decided to use a pallet knife to get the rough textures and I love color, so here are all sorts of colors!
The entrance to the Grand Canyon National Park North Rim is located 30 miles south of Jacob Lake on Highway 67; the actual rim of the canyon is an additional 14 miles south. Jacob Lake, AZ is located in northern Arizona on Highway 89A, not far from the Utah border. Grand Canyon lies entirely within the state of Arizona.
If you have never been to the Grand Canyon, then it needs to be on your bucket list!! There are no words to accurately describe the views and the emotional impact of experiencing that incredible space here on earth, in our own USA!!
