Description
This is such a beautiful scene and as I have grown older, I’ve learned about grass and how important it is to the landscape; how it nurtures wildlife and animals on a working ranch. The muted colors combine into a serene and natural image that can be appreciated in a farmhouse or even a modern theme. This would work well at home or even an office where you could take a break while imagining yourself there, in the cut grass.
This large native grass hay field was cultivated back in 2007. It had been full of cedars, which Jan Paul cleared and then planted a variety of native grasses to sustain our growing herd of cattle.
It's that time of year and boy has it been a challenge. First it was too dry and hot to mow and with the threat of catching the pasture on fire, Jan Paul held off on mowing. Then it finally rained but then it rained, and rained and rained. ugh - Too wet to get into the field and too few days for it to dry out before it rained again and then it was cold and freezing. And then parts on the mower or the tractor or the baler fail. A part breaks or something happens! A rancher's job is never done.
I gotta say though, I've never seen someone so patient dealing with the setbacks as this guy. I wish I had more of his temperament when it comes to these types of situations!! LOL! Anyway, he got a few bales so far. Let's keep our fingers crossed.
If you like this image it can be printed on a number of substrates! Check out the selections from paper prints to aluminum to totes and pillows.
