Description
Years ago, after my mother had gotten cuttings from her mom, she planted iris at her house. Years went by and after I moved away from home, I got some of her iris. Every time I have moved, I’ve taken roots with me to plant. We planted some of my mom’s iris at the ranch and they have bloomed year after year, brightening up the place in the springtime. So now they have been enjoyed by three generations and all different family members including my brothers, and with a painting, I can enjoy it even in the winter when flowers aren’t blooming!

I loved reading your description of how you've kept the iris with you!!!! I did the same thing with some daffodils that my mom gave me when we moved to our old home. When we moved from there, I very definitely took some with me, replanted them here, and they bring me such joy each spring when they return!!! I love this particular painting, Cheryl ... I have had this thing with orange (salmon / peach?) and purples for a while now!!!! It just really pulls my eye!!! I've even got a salmon (orange-ish) chair with a purple flower arrangement next to it in the room I'm in, too!! Gorgeous work of art ... you are sooo talented!!!! l/f t p and fb

Lois, Thanks so much for your thoughtful comment! They really are special when we can remember them because of our moms!
