Description
Ford pickup shadow in the country.
I shot this image out of the window as we were going down the county road as the sun was setting - yes I was in the passenger seat. :) I thought it would make a cool picture! What do you think? I liked how the shadow seems to trail behind the pickup and the tires look like they are on a road. It was perfect timing to catch the sun at this specific angle.
Sunlight causes many objects to have shadows at certain times of the day. The angle of the sun, its apparent height in the sky causes a change in the length of shadows. Low-angles create longer shadows. As we were driving along the sun was almost set!!
"Maybe the only thing each of us can see is our own shadow.
Carl Jung called this his shadow work. He said we never see others. Instead we see only aspects of ourselves that fall over them. Shadows. Projections. Our associations.
The same way old painters would sit in a tiny dark room and trace the image of what stood outside a tiny window, in the bright sunlight.
The camera obscura.
Not the exact image, but everything reversed or upside down."
