He sure is! It was a pleasure to view this wonderful and named bird image that is now exhibited among the homepage features for the group, Wild Birds Of The World - A Nature Photography Group. L/F

Artist's Description

Northern Cardinal in the winter.

The northern cardinal is a bird in the genus Cardinalis; it is also known colloquially as the redbird, common cardinal or just cardinal. It can be found in southern Canada, through the eastern United States from Maine to Texas and south through Mexico, Belize, Guatemala and Big Island of Hawaii.

Scientific name: Cardinalis cardinalis

This cardinal has been hanging out by my office window for days. He loves the fruit from the Bradford Pear but most of all he sees his reflection in my window and wants to attack it. We finally put up party streamers across the window. We don’t want him to hurt himself but we want to be able to look out the window too! Once the temps get back up we’ll put the solar screens back on, but for now, we get to enjoy watching him in the tree.

Wondering where the lady birds are! We usually plant sunflowers for them to enjoy during the warmer months of the year.

About Cheryl McClure

Welcome to my galleries. My goal is to capture the beauty of the world around us and share it with you! Be sure and follow my most current art journey on Instagram at cherylintexas_art! Art is in my bones... and I see it in my family too. My grandmother, mom, brothers, sons and grandkids all have that artistic ingenuity. I think you can always look around and see something beautiful to behold. From a young age, I enjoyed drawing and painting so being self taught and then going a step further, I worked to receive an Associate's Degree in Art. But I really think that the artistic expression comes from within no matter how much training you have. When you look at an artists works, there always seems to be a pattern or style of some kind....
