Acrylic on canvas with pallet knife.

This was a labor of love, being I love sunflowers but had none to paint from! It was one of those days I just had this painting in my heart that needed to come out. I have to admit, there were some sunflowers at the back of the property and I tried to get some but driving down the dirt road, I encountered someone coming towards me with their grader equipment so I literally backed all the way out and went home. One one of our walks at the ranch, we did happen to see a few sunflowers and some Snow on the Prairie, so I brought that home.

Nevertheless, I reviewed pictures, used my little bouquet of a few flowers and made up an imaginary vase to cover the canvas and painted.

Sunflowers make such a warm statement and with this impressionistic style, it can make a space feel cozy.
