Artist's Description
We live in Hunt County, Texas on the property that we call Pecan Branch Ranch. There’s a large pond/small lake at the back pasture and when it overflows it goes in to Pecan Creek!
Anyhow, this old pecan tree and it’s undergrowth stand as a pillar in the pasture just on the other side of the fenced section, south of our house. There’s a bunch of cedars and other trees growing under it. I just love the view when I go outside and look to the south. The sky is enormous from east to west with hardly any trees to block the view of the storms coming or the sun setting.
I had to capture this view in paint and it was freeing to finally get it on canvas!
Acrylic with pallet knife on canvas.
About Cheryl McClure
Welcome to my galleries. My goal is to capture the beauty of the world around us and share it with you! Be sure and follow my most current art journey on Instagram at cherylintexas_art! Art is in my bones... and I see it in my family too. My grandmother, mom, brothers, sons and grandkids all have that artistic ingenuity. I think you can always look around and see something beautiful to behold. From a young age, I enjoyed drawing and painting so being self taught and then going a step further, I worked to receive an Associate's Degree in Art. But I really think that the artistic expression comes from within no matter how much training you have. When you look at an artists works, there always seems to be a pattern or style of some kind....
